...MCS News Ticker...

Microsoft rushing Vista fix known as "Windows 7"
Due out First Quarter of 2009

Microsoft is pushing hard for its developers to finish the next up and coming operating system called Windows 7, which in all reality is actually, based on Microsoft's own version number identifications, is Windows Version 6.1.  This quote 'New" upgrade which Microsoft will in fact be charging for is basically Windows Vista with all its issues that had when it was originally released, fixed.  Microsoft has realized that some of it epic failures that it had implanted into Windows Vista such as its User Access Controls, (UAC), has done nothing for the security of a machine but in fact caused more customer complains since Windows ME in the last 90's.

Microsoft is also working on a Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista which for some reason is planned for the same time in which they are planning on releasing Windows 7.  This makes me believe that Windows Vista SP2 and Windows 7 will be almost exactly the same.

For this reason, MCS Networks has continued to sell Windows XP based computer.  We have to date never sold one of our customers a Windows Vista based computer simply because we cannot support a computer in which its operating system is so poorly put together.  We are in the process of beta testing the quote "New" version of Windows known as "Windows 7".  Microsoft is expected to release Windows 7 in the first quarter of 2009.  We recommend that customer stay with Windows XP until Windows 7 is released.  Windows 7 is already showing promise in relation to some of the existing problem in Windows Vista that a lot of our customer has complained about.

MCS Networks will continue to support and perform repairs on Windows Vista based computer but strongly recommend that if your in the process of purchasing a new computer that you request that Windows XP be installed as its operating system.

XP Anti-Virus 2008/2009 [Virus]

Recently we have seen a significant increase of a virus known as (XP Anti-Virus 2008 or 2009)
This destructive virus tried to convince the user that their computer is infected with hundreds
of viruses in order to get them to enter a credit card number into this program so that it can remove all the viruses its claming the computer has, unfortunately the exact program which is claiming it can remove the viruses IS the virus.  Users who have actually entered their credit card numbers into the program have found that this bogus company will charge 39.95 up to 12 times.  If the users uses a debit card, they are out all the money as most debit cards do not have fraud insurance on them.  If you have this virus or suspect someone you know has this virus we recommend that you get your computer into our service center just as soon as possible.  The longer this virus is on someone's computer the worse the problems become.

Windows XP Life Expectancy

Yes it is true Microsoft is trying to get everyone to switch to Windows Vista however,
if someone ever tells you that if you don't update to Windows Vista your computer is
some day just going to crash and never work again, don't believe them.  Windows XP,
all editions will be around for many many years to come.  Your computer will never just
simply stop working because you decided not to purchase the upgrade.
People spreading this rumor simply do not know what they are talking about as they
are simply trying to generate revenue based of lies and misinformation.
